Lindab AgION™ ducting is coated with an antmicrobial, inorganic coumpound from AgION®™ Technologies. It represents an excellent safeguard against harmful bacterial growth.
Bacteria mold and mildew can grow and spread on surfaces that appear clean.
AgION™ coating contains silver ions in a zeolite matrix. Zeolite is an organic, ceramic material that is open and porous in structure. Silver ions reside within the lattice of the zeolite.
AgION™ begins to work after coming into contact with moisture so that the silver ions are slowly and continuously released from the coating surface of the duct. Silver ions act as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that inhibits cell reproduction and interrupts cell metabolism, thus preventing bacterial growth in the duct system and creating a healthier environment.
